The Archives & Museum of East Timorese Resistance

Wish we had more time to really read it all and take in. But like in any country, after you have been to such museums you begin to understand the answers to many of year previously unanswered questions.

To get 5 stars, I would recommend as soon as sufficient money is available, the next upgrade is to get headsets which tell what is written on the walls, in at least the following languages. English, Bahasa, Portuguese, Japanese, Mandarin, Korean and Tetun, of course. The stories in the recorded headsets should include what is seen and heard on the Screens plus give a clear description of the Jail and those Timorese lads that helped the Australians, plus the artifacts that are seen in the showcases.

It would also be good in the shop, if a calendar of Timor was available on sale each year, depicting the villages attacked and what they look like now. A sort of before and after photo.

Maybe one of the countries that are currently giving Aid to educate the Timorese, could turn their Aid to just educate us a little more in THIS way!
